U.S. citizens will be required to present one of the following documents for entry into the United States by land or sea from Canada.

Acceptable documents for U.S. re-entry:

U.S. Passport Card
Cost: $55 - Age 16 and older
$40 - Under age 16
$30 - For holders of U.S. passport
Validity: 10 years - Age 16 and older
5 years - Under age 16
Issued by: U.S. Department of State
Limitations: Not valid for international air travel

Driver’s License 
Cost: $15-$30 over a regular driver’s license
Validity: Will vary by state or province
Issued by: Individual state or province
Limitations: Not valid for international air travel
U.S. Passport
Cost: $135 - Age 16 and older
$105 - Under age 16
 $110 - For holders of U.S. passport
Validity: 10 years - Age 16 and older
5 years - Under age 16
Issued by: U.S. Department of State

CHILDREN: U.S. citizen children under the age of 16 will be able to present the original or copy of their birth certificate, or other proof of U.S. citizenship such as a naturalization certificate or citizenship card.

Trusted Traveler Program Cards
NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST enrollment cards can speed your entry into the U.S. and are issued only to pre-approved, low-risk travelers. The cards are valid for use at land or sea; the NEXUS card can be used in airports with a NEXUS kiosk.
