Frommers Review of Marriott Niagara Falls

Marriott Niagara Falls is the closest hotel to the Niagara Falls. This can be hard to describe since there are so many other hotels with similar claims. Take it from the experts at Frommers Travel Guides, Marriott Fallsview is the absolute closest hotel to Niagara Falls.

Put simply, if you want to stay as close to the falls as possible, book here. Built in a curving design that allows virtually every room an unobstructed view, this luxury hotel sits just 300 feet from Horseshoe Falls -- closer than any competitor. The service is excellent and amenities are plentiful, including an extensive spa. Standard rooms are big with large bathrooms; upgraded rooms let you take a whirlpool bath with the falls just a glance away. With comfy beds, a great restaurant (reviewed below), a spa and pool, and the best falls view in town, you may never want to leave this place.

Niagara Falls doesn't look like a waterpark capital but there are plenty of options large and small for guests looking to take a dip. The newest wave of waterparks are all indoors and feature some amazing additions - and the race is on for one of the parks to emerge as champion.

Waterslides | Will make you glide and ride

Waterslides are the main attraction and the Niagara Falls waterparks take them seriously. Propelling, twisting, dropping, and generally disorienting guest is fun for everyone. Each waterslide in Niagara Falls is unique, and with more than 25 across the four major waterparks there is plenty of variation for your vacation.

Wave Pool | Will make you cool

Wave pools are incredibly complex pieces of technology and allow guests to get the waves on the beach experience in the middle of winter. Guests are literally moved by the wave pool, and when the wave pool siren goes off guest flock to see the commotion. Water in motion is both calming and exciting like a campfire or your first sight of Niagara Falls.

Warm Relaxation | Will make your vacation into a sensation

There are two important ways to relax poolside - soaking in the sun and soaking in the hot tub. Hot tubs are a standard inside of the hotels but very few have an on-site Onsen, a large outdoor hot tub. It can be a great way to slip away while the kids play in the park section of the waterpark.

Getting wet and wild in Niagara Falls doesn't have to be difficult, most hotels feature a package that includes admission to the best waterparks in Niagara Falls. Our package is the aptly named Waterpark Package is an excellent family adventure. With it you visit the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, home to 16 of those waterslides and the year-round outdoor sundeck. Book your Niagara Falls hotel package now and beat the rush.

On Pinterest the combination of fine food and travel are huge, and we feel the same way. Make your Niagara Falls Pinterest dream vacation a reality with a Marriott getaway. Summer is coming soon and the parkland will spring to life

This package includes passes to some of the best family attractions in Niagara Falls, a competitive room rate, and you will be within walking distance from all of the free attractions like the Botanical Gardens.

Couples Retreat worth Pinning
This is the most popular type of Niagara Falls getaway, and for many leads to guest having the best wedding photos on Pinterest. Luckily you don't have to be married to get the Couples Spa Retreat at Marriott Fallsview Hotel and Spa - home of the Serenity Spa by the Falls.

Food for your Boards
All of the food I see on Pinterest is so pretty and well presented - similar to plates from Terrapin Grille in Niagara Falls. My last excursion to the Terrapin was on Valentines day, so I'll be looking forward to the next seasonal creation from Chef Ron Kneabone. The dinner menu is a luxurious fusion of French and Canadian cuisine - presented with a view of the falls.

Call it fate or call it love, when I'm on Pinterest there is nothing but a bright future. Feel free to share some of your favourite pins in the comments and I'll try to get the best posts approved in the spirit of sharing. I'll also be looking for submissions through Twitter, since those are already public you can mark them with the hashtags #Pinterest and #Niagara to get in on the pin-winning.

Watch Nik Wallenda live as he goes over the falls. One of the most exciting daredevil shows in over 20 years is going to take place. Both the parklands and fallsview area are expected to be packed.

There is already a flurry of information and misinformation flying around about when and where Nik Wallenda will be doing the walk. One thing is certain, the Falls Cam will capture the entire event. Marriott Gateway on the Falls is preparing their camera for the event and users will be able to watch live at WallendaCam.com.

The newest camera in Niagara Falls will have the clearest high definition images. The new Fallscam is being installed to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Marriott Gateway on the Falls after the multi-million dollar renovation and upgrade.

The new camera will also have improved night images. Live images day and night offering potential guests a preview of the nightly falls illumination.

The new camera is also going to join the EarthCam network, reaching out to more users. EarthCam is recognized as being one of the most popular stationary streaming services.

Watching the water fall over the brink or watching Nik Wallenda go over the edge this eye in the sky is your best option to see the majesty in Niagara Falls in 2012.

The word cheap is not in the vocabulary of any hotel, restaurant, or attraction on Fallsview Boulevard. Because of these persistent high standards it can be difficult for the walk-in traveller to find a deal, follow these tips and you'll be able to march in for the best of everything in Niagara Falls.

The Best Prices in Niagara Falls
Groupon is a phenomenal tool for travellers looking for the full luxury experience, and they benefit from being the first major player in the online group deal market. WagJag provides local deals that are optimized for you. Travelzoo specializes in the travel market, making it easier to navigate than sites that place vacation deals next to advertisements for furnace repair and dental procedures. Save enough money on accomodations, luxury dining, shopping and spa experiences and they can all be a part of your vacation while staying on budget.

The Best Accomodations in Niagara Falls
Being an informed traveller it is easy to find the best rate, and now you can discover in advance that you're going to get the best room. Besides the new deals sites there are the traditional online travel agencies and review sites that can act as a litmus test for quality. Check out these links:

Still think that this is too good to be true, believe it. These deals are our standard packages, you get everything. Hotels in Niagara Falls work hard to reach out to people that would always appreciate the best for less. The Niagara Falls luxury experience cannot be replicated by even the most ambitious motel outside of Niagara Falls.

The Best Spas in Niagara Falls
One of the most relaxing spa experiences is the Serenity Spa by the Falls. Serenity Spa by the Falls was ranked in the Top 100 Spas in North America, the Top 50 Spas in Canada, and Top Three Spas in Niagara by the Spas of America ratings agency. It continues to be rated as the best spa in Niagara Falls by guests.

The Best Dining in Niagara Falls
Websites like Yelp are great tools to find guaranteed amazing local dining experiences. Marriott Gateway by the Falls has the best rated Milestones along the Niagara River open daily. Some travellers may not know that all of these hotel restaurants are open to anyone looking for a fine dining experience, travellers staying at the Marriott Gateway may be surprised by the unique dining experience across the street at the Terrapin Grille. Chef Ron Kneabone is in command at the Terrapin Grille, a local celebrity in his own way, he is wired to get things done right and delivers some of the best Canadian Cuisine with French and German inspirations.

Nik Wallenda will bring back the tight-rope experience to Niagara Falls in a one time only high wire act. Now that the Niagara Parks Commision is allowing Nik Wallenda to enjoy the splendor of Niagara Falls while adding to the enjoyment of other visitors.

Staying in Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is one of the safest places in the world to see such a powerful and dangerous part of nature as a tourist. Nik Wallenda is not coming to Niagara Falls as a tourist, he is bringing back the daredevil culture. It is an important part of reclaiming the sense of adventure and real feeling of danger that has been gradually disappearing over the decades. It is welcome news that Nik Wallenda plans to make his move to Niagara Falls permanent, as a resident he will be a part of the growing number of entertainers that travel the globe and choose to come home to Niagara.

History of Danger
"Other daredevils have made crossing the falls their goal, starting with the successful passage by Jean François "Blondin" Gravelet in 1859. These tightrope walkers drew huge crowds to witness their exploits. Their wires ran across the gorge, near the current Rainbow Bridge, not over the waterfall itself. Among the many was Ontario's William Hunt, who billed himself as "The Great Farini" and competed with Blondin in performing outrageous stunts over the gorge. Englishman Captain Matthew Webb, the first man to swim the English Channel, drowned in 1883 after unsuccessfully trying to swim the rapids down river from the falls." Quote from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niagara_Falls)

Unmissable 2012
This is a big deal and many of the biggest players in Niagara Falls are saying this will be one of the three biggest events in Niagara alongside the War of 1812 Memorials and major concerts coming to the region. There is never a bad time to visit Niagara Falls, but for the truest thrill seekers this would be a bad time not to visit. The only thing that could push this over the top would be a visit by Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family. Hotels are booking early for Canada Day 2012 in Niagara Falls and anyone that isn't already at the top of the list may have difficulty the longer that they wait - book now.

Update: Not only has the event been announced but we are hosting an event and are sponsoring the WallendaCam at http://www.wallendacam.com/
