Niagara Freefall

Niagara Freefall

Fly like a bird at the Niagara Freefall and Interactive Centre’s indoor skydiving wind tunnel. A little bit of adventure and a whole lot of fun are on the cards at this attraction which is Canada’s first and only indoor skydiving wind tunnel.

20 Foot High Wind Tunnel

You don’t need to jump out of a plane, it is simpler than that. No special skills are needed to do this, anyone can try it as long as you are above the age of 7. The wind tunnel with state of the art settings has a flight chamber with a diameter of 12 feet and a height of 20 feet and this is where all the action takes place. Fly at airspeeds of up to 140 mph. You can fly solo or in a group of up to 4 people. The chamber has padded walls and floors and the entire experience is a safe one with trained instructors at your side. The staff at the centre controls the recirculating air stream in the chamber and ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere regardless of the weather outside. You won’t feel any motion sickness neither will you fall, all you need to do is enjoy the experience.

What to Wear

Wear casual comfortable clothes without collars and appropriate shoes, open-toed footwear is not allowed. Remember to take out any loose change in your pockets or any jewellery and other accessories, these will be kept in a locker. Prior to your flight, you need to fill up some paperwork and then a short 20 minute training session with a certified flight instructor will put all your worries and jitters to rest. After this, you will be given flight gear including suit, helmet, goggles, elbow and knee pads, earplugs and gloves. Now you are all set to freefall in the skydiving simulator.

More than a Wind Tunnel

There are many more activities at the Niagara Freefall and Interactive Center, it a destination to eat, drink, party and play. Other activities include Lazerball, a combination of Lazertag and Paintball. Instead of paint, soft reusable foam balls are used and players in protective gear can hide behind bunkers as they play the game. You can also hop onto Canada’s only mechanical bull ride for a wild time or scale a 32 foot high rooftop rock wall.
