Planning a trip to Niagara Falls via electric car? If your journey starts from Toronto then the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), alongside Lake Ontario, is the most convenient route to Niagara Falls. You don’t have to experience range anxiety as there are several charging stations along the way. Some of these are located at Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls. A few stations charge for parking and charging while the majority offer free charging.

Charging your car before you start in Toronto is easy as there are plenty of options to choose from. Two such stations are given below.
Waterpark Place

This is a huge charging station with 14 ports for charging. These include 6 Eaton dual chargers and 2 single chargers. Parking charges apply.

Maple Leaf Square and Le Germain Hotel
75 Bremner Blvd Toronto, ON M5J 0A1, Canada
Port: EV Plug (J1772)
There are public chargers here that can be used by anyone with an electric car as well as private ones for guests of the hotel.


Clarkson GO Train Station
1110 Southdown Rd Mississauga, ON L5J 1L4, Canada

There are two chargers on the first level of the parking garage. You have to pay an access fee of $2.50.


Tim Hortons
228 Wyecroft Road, Oakville, ON, L6K 3X7
Port: EV Plug (J1772)
Located near the entrance of the Tim Hortons restaurant, the station is open all 24 hours. Charging is usually free at the two charging ports if you have a ChargePoint account. There is another Tim Hortons charging station close to this one.


Waterfront Parking Garage

Port: 2 EV Plugs (J1772)
You can charge for up to 4 hours at this charging station. Daytime charges apply for parking while charging is free. Parking and charging is free after 6 in the evening and on weekends.


Grimsby Supercharger

Port: 8 Tesla Plugs (HWPC)
Located near the Queen Elizabeth Way exit 74, there are eight Tesla Superchargers at this station. At the moment there are no J1772 ports at this location.

St. Catharines

Niagara Falls Electric Car Charging Port

Marriott Fallsview Hotel

Port: 2x Wall Outlet (120V)
Charge your car at the wall outlet of the hotel on the left side of the registration area. Check with the valet for your parking spot and for overnight charging. The other Marriott hotel, Marriott on the Falls, has an EV Plug for charging.
