Canadian Aszure Barton began dancing at the age of three and studied at the National Ballet School. In 2002, she founded Aszure Barton & Artists, a dance company dedicated to producing contemporary dance and nourishing artist development. Aszure Barton's Awáa is a new work, developed at the Banff Centre for the Arts in 2012.
