Buffalo Sabres 2016-2017 Home Games

The Buffalo Sabres were the worst team in the NHL during the 2014/15 season. That being the case, they had a pretty good chance to win top tick for the 2015 NHL Draft. However the rebuilding franchise may have hit a bit of a speed bump when that top pick went to the Edmonton Oilers. But with the strength of the 2015 draft, the Sabres were able to grab a potential superstar 2nd overall, Boston University Standout Jack Eichel.

Trades, Draft Picks, and Free Agents

The Sabres improved their roster greatly over the off-season, adding a plethora of talent to their farm system via the draft, as well as upgrading their NHL roster with trades and free agents. Recent headlines having to do with the team include the signing of Johan Larsson, a Swedish forward who had six goals last season in 39 games.

Upgraded Goaltending

The recent acquisition of another goaltender, Robin Lehner give the Sabres hope, and management, particularly the GM, is very high on Lehner.
Additionally, the Sabres added goalie Chad Johnson from the New York Islanders back in March, giving the team a decent back-up goalie.

Jack Eichel & the Future

Eichel appears to be the franchise's player of the future while Lehner is still just 23 years old. O'Reilly is 24 and developing, along with additional farm system assets.

Accordingly, the upcoming NHL season appears as though it will be another rebuilding year for Buffalo, although they should have an outside chance at making the playoffs in 2015-2016.

The Marriott Fallsview Hotel is only 30 minutes from Buffalo, New York, and is a great location for those looking to take in both an NHL hockey game and Niagara Falls:
