One of Comedy's All-Time Greats

Rock has received several accolades during his career including Emmy and Grammy awards. The comedian’s tryst with fame and popularity started in his early 20s when he did stand-up comedy as well as small acting roles. It was with NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 1989 that Rock became a popular name in the country. After a few years at SNL, Rock did a show for HBO titled Chris Rock: Big Ass Jokes. He firmly established himself as a much-in-demand comedian after his second show for HBO Bring the Pain. The show won two Emmys in 1997 for Best Writing and Outstanding Special.

Later in the 2000s, he also went on to perform in the UK and other parts of Europe, Australia and South Africa. In 2006, his comedy album Never Scared got him another Grammy Award.
