Beer is a booming business in Canada these days – the industry is expanding and the public interest in ‘craft beer’ means that tastes are becoming more discerning and more experimental. Niagara has long been known as a premier wine growing region, and craft beer is beginning to make its mark with locals & tourists. Celebrations for the Canada 150 in the Falls will be included with this signature brewery event.
Niagara Falls Beer Festival + Canada 150 in the Falls
During August 12-13, 2017, the Niagara Falls Beer Festival will take place along Queen Street between Ontario Avenue and Zimmerman Avenue.
As of February, over twenty breweries and food trucks are confirmed to be setting up shop along this strip of Queen Street, and still calling out for more vendors to join in. The outdoor festival will also be incorporating food and beer–related seminars and presentations, as well as live entertainment.

The Best Ontario Craft Breweries
The selection of food and brew available at the festival is already a strong line-up. Many of the breweries are Ontario Craft Beer heavyweights: Niagara Brewing Company, Whitewater, Silversmith and Oast House. The Niagara College Teaching Brewery will also be serving core and ‘small batch’ brews made by its students, and other drinks will be on hand, such as winemaker Sunnybrook Estate setting up a stall for its Ironwood cider range. The food on offer is also worth mentioning; several of the food trucks are coming from Toronto and are well-known boutique brands there, such as Mustache Burger and Jerk Brothers, and local favorites such as Wickedly Sinful’s signature poutine offerings.
The objective is to recreate a old-style street festival along Queen Street, celebrating Canada’s food and beer culture, and even based on the early details the Niagara Falls Beer Festival promises to do just that. As Niagara Falls’ first downtown beer-focused festival, it’s already carving out a solid place for itself on the town’s event calendar.
