This year’s Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights will be an enchanting experience featuring an 8km illumination route and exciting events that are sure to be a highlight of any winter visit to Niagara.

Opening Ceremonies

November 3, 2018

Niagara’s 36th annual Niagara Falls Winter Festival of Lights kicks off on Saturday November 3, 2018 with an Opening Ceremonies celebration in Queen Victoria Park. This all-ages event is completely free and will feature live entertainment and the chance to tour the festival’s 8km illumination route!

Cascades of Fire International Fireworks Competition

November 9 – 18, 2018

New to this year’s Winter Festival of Lights is the Cascades of Fire International Fireworks Competition. This unique event will be held over six nights in November and feature dazzling pyrotechnic shows from six countries. Each presentation will be rated by a panel of judges and the winner will be awarded on the final day of competition. This year’s participants include:

  • China – Friday November 9
  • Finland – Saturday November 10
  • Brazil – Sunday November 11
  • Vietnam – Friday November 16
  • Italy – Saturday November 17
  • Canada – Sunday November 18

This event is free to enjoy and all shows will take place at 9pm.

Deck The Falls Holiday Walking Tour

November 30 – December 15, 2018

The Deck the Falls Holiday Walking Tour is back for another season, giving ticket-holders the chance to tour beautiful venues throughout the city and enjoy:

  • Gourmet food samplings
  • Holiday beverages
  • Live entertainment and pop-up carolers
  • Holiday-themed photo-ops
  • Craft activities

Deck the Falls will be taking place over the first three weekends of December and tickets can be purchased online.

New Year’s Eve in Niagara Falls

December 31, 2018 – January 1, 2019

Ring in 2019 in style at the Niagara Falls New Year’s Eve celebration in Queen Victoria Park! Each year, as many as 40,000 people gather across the street from the breathtaking Niagara Falls for this amazing event that features:

  • An outdoor concert
  • Two spectacular fireworks displays
  • Food and beverage vendors

And if you don’t attend the whole New Year’s Eve celebration, you can still enjoy the spectacular fireworks and beautiful view of Niagara Falls from a Fallsview guestroom at the Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa.
