Located less than 700 metres from the Marriott Niagara Falls Hotel Fallsview & Spa, the Chateau Park Museum – Art Centre is a classic stone work piece of grand architecture built in 1894.
Also known as the Mount Carmel Monastery, the property sits on over twelve acres of beautifully appointed and manicured grounds, containing trees, gardens and a number of statues.
Additionally, the property includes an on-site Art Centre featuring carefully curated works from well-known Canadian and International Artists.
And of course, would any Museum be complete without a gift shop? The ‘Boutique’ gift shop contains fine art reproductions, post-cards, art books, and additional items. Adjacent to the gift shop is a Café, featuring standard and gourmet coffees, sweets and sandwiches.
Photographers of all skill levels are welcome; photography is allowed throughout the property.
To reach the Mount Carmel Chateau Park Art Centre (located at 7021 Stanley Avenue) simply exit the Marriott Fallsview front entrance and turn left. Walk past the Niagara Falls Marriott Gateway and take a right onto Livingstone. Once you’ve reached the end of Livingstone take a left and continue down Stanley Avenue. Depending on your walking speed, this relaxing walk should take only 5 – 8 minutes.
Hours of operation are 9am to 4pm year round. Admission is $5 for self guided visitors and $13 for a 60 minute guided tour. The Mount Carmel Education Centre recommends booking tours in advance; this can be done by calling 905-371-3922
