The warmer months are rolling into the Niagara region, and that means that before long we’ll all want to stay cool when out and about. Niagara might be famous for quality chilled icewine, but while that’s great for keeping the temperature down it’s not the universal thirst-quencher of choice when out and about!
So what else is around to keep the heat manageable? Here are some possibilities available in Niagara Falls.
Cool Spring Drinks in Niagara Falls
Starbucks Niagara Falls
It’s ubiquitous in the United States, and now Canada, for a reason. You can always count on Starbucks for consistency, providing a well-blended ice coffee or ‘cold brew’ caffeinated mix in multiple varieties depending on your tastes and needs.
Niagara Brewing Company
For those that enjoy a cool pint on a warm day, on a can of Niagara Brewing Company’s Honeymoon Peach Radler will hit the spot. Its low alcohol at 3.5% so you don’t need to worry about losing your faculties too quickly, and the blend is sweet yet refreshing. Niagara Brewing Company also offers a number of great craft beers, from Lager to IPA. All beers are made in small batches with local Niagara water and fresh ingredients.
Always Refreshing Soda Shop
The soda shops of the 1950s are mostly gone now, but there’s an exception to that rule along Falls Avenue. The Always Refreshing Soda Shop is an homage to the diners of old, as well as a great centrepiece of 1950s Coca-Cola memorabilia. To cap it all off, it’s the perfect place to stop in if you’re nearby and cool down with ice cream sundaes or old-fashioned soda pop.
Available at most convenience stores in the Niagara Falls and Buffalo area, Johnnie Ryan has been local to the region for the better part of a century. It’s a great local alternative to other soft drinks like Coca-Cola, with flavours from ginger ale to root beer.
