It's that time of year again - peach season! Our very own Executive Chef Ron Kneabone shared his peach recipes with Steve Ruddick on CHCH Morning Live. If you missed the episode you can watch it here: Terrapin Grille on CHCH Morning Live
Did you know you can Barbecue peaches? Chef Ron says this is the perfect time of year to BBQ peaches because of their firmness and flavour.
Try some of his recipes: Peach Baked Brie, Grilled Peach and Corn Salsa, Niagara Peach and Feta Salad, Peach Kir Royale, Terrapin Grilled Peach Melba
Tips from Chef Ron Kneabone
- Never use foil to wrap vegetables or meat before placing on the grill. You want the heat of the BBQ to sear the meat and vegetables to give it that grilled flavour. Use some olive oil, canola oil or vegetable oil to coat before grilling.
- Always keep these four herbs on hand; chives, parsley, thyme and oregano. Those are the spices most commonly used in recipes.
- If you are growing your own herbs, place a pot in the ground to prevent the herbs from taking over the rest of your garden.
- Freestone peaches are firmer and less sweet. Clingstone peaches have the best flavour, the meat of the peach clings more to the stone.
Stop by the Terrapin Grille Fallsview Restaurant located in the hotel for a delicious meal and fantastic view of the Falls. The Terrapin Grille prides itself on using only the freshest locally grown produce. Your tastebuds will be delighted!
