Roger’s Hometown Hockey

Roger’s Hometown Hockey

Get set to celebrate Canada’s love for hockey once again with the fourth season of Rogers Hometown Hockey. This time around, the fantastic road tour around the country kicks off at Niagara Falls, Ontario on October 7 and 8, 2017! Niagara has a rich ice hockey legacy and it is only fitting that the passionate fans in the region get together to enjoy a two day celebration of hockey. Queen Victoria Park with the backdrop of the spectacular waterfalls is the setting for the event.

Rogers Hometown Hockey hosted by Ron MacLean and Tara Slone is a free event for all ages. All you need is a passion for hockey! Niagara Falls will be the first destination in a series of 24 locations across the country during the road trip that coincides with the on-going NHL season. While the NHL games will take place in the NHL venue cities, places such as Niagara Falls and other destinations on the road tour with their community of local fans will be the backdrop during the live broadcast of the NHL games.

On the weekend, there will be plenty of hockey-related activities, alumni appearances, special guests, musical programmes, hockey stories, giveaways and much more! The highlight is the Sportsnet live broadcast of the Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers game on Sunday, October 8. Watch the broadcast with other passionate hockey fans in the city. Niagara Falls’ hockey-loving community will be highlighted during this weekend on the tour dedicated to the country’s rich hockey culture and heritage. Gear up in your favourite team’s jersey be it a local or national one, and come ready to cheer during both days of the event that viewers all over the country can enjoy.

It’s a great way to connect hockey lovers all across Canada through shared experiences and stories, and celebrate the game’s heritage. All these local communities helped build the hockey fabric of the country by producing great players who went on to become icons and legends of the game. Hockey is also a major unifying force in the country as it unites Canadians through their love for the game. And Rogers Hometown Hockey taps into that very spirit that makes hockey a national obsession.

Come October, and Niagara Falls will be all ready to show their game passion with Rogers Hometown Hockey!
